Do you think all of the walking you do in training helps your races? Also, how much time do you normally spend walking during an ultra?

Paul,
You've got more good races ahead, including another 24hr event if you want. Let me know how you heal the hammy. A sub 7 - 50m is an awfully fast start.

Shane - I think it is good to do in training what you'll be doing in a race, so walking is a great benefit for those (like me) who do mix walking into their ultra races. As for how much I walk in an ultra, it really depends. In 50Ks and 50 Milers, I don't walk unless there are really serious hills and/or altitude, such as the San Juan Solstice 50. But in a race like Mountain Masochist, I ran the whole way. For 100s, I've always walked, usually letting the course dictate where I did so.
