It was 40 Years Ago Today

The first issue of Rolling Stone magazine came out 40 years ago today. Trivia Question: Who was on the cover, and what useful item was included inside the magazine? I'll give a CRUD shirt to the first person who correctly answers both (no using the internet for research).
